why i only buy domain names from name silo

I only register domains with this company

There are tons of domain registrars but I only register domains with namesilo. Before I discovered namesilo, I have used some of the well known domain name registrars but for some reason, there were always “problems” so to speak.

Although I have done my homework but was never 100% happy

Searching for a place to register a domain name without doing some research first is like buying a lottery ticket. On other words, a waste of money and time. But how do you find a good company that does business with integrity? Well, it’s next to impossible because many online reviews do not reflect the truth. Surely, you know that products on amazon have many 5-star reviews but those are not the ones I read. Before I buy something, I read the one-star reviews and doing so has paid off quite a few times. To make a long story short, things are not always the way we expect them to be.

Why namesilo is the best registrar

I have registered my first domain with nameslio back in 2009 and since then, never looked back. Over the years, namesilo was there when I needed them and yes, they also have the best deals.

First and foremost, it’s all about cost. A few days ago, I’ve checked something and saw an ad to register a domain name. They (a quite well-known company) only asked for $19.99 and stated that this would be a good deal. I actually laughed because I know that Namesilo has the best prices which is why I use and recommend them. Namesilo constantly gives me the cheapest buying options and have done so for over 10 years.

Disclaimer: If you use the above link, I will earn a small commission from namesilo.com
All of my domain names are exclusively registered with namesilo.com as I use no other registrar.

You won’t believe what happened to me in Hawaii!

These days, registering a domain name is so easy that help and support are almost never mentioned. Still, a few years ago I was in a tough situation. I had just registered a few domain names with namesilo and upon checking, I noticed that something wasn’t right. The password didn’t let me log in and after a second try I got somewhat nervous. What can I do? If this had happened while I am at home, I would have just called them and explained my situation but since things always happen at the wrong time, it was tricky. To make a long story short, I called Namesilo from Honolulu and they agreed to suspend my account until I return home to Canada.

What had happened? Amazingly, the built-in security features at Namesilo dedected that “someone” tried to access my account from Hawaii instead of Vancouver and blocked access. Just so you know, I would NEVER EVER log into anything from a hotel WIFI but since I was at the Apple Store, my usually strong sense of security temporary shut down …. the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak.

Careful when buying hosting!

Many if not all hosting providers offer a free domain name upon buying a hosting plan. Be very careful and think this thru. My next blog post will go into more details about the disadvantages of taking a free domain name which, in the end is anything but free.
